Congrats! I've witnessed 5 in my life, I'd say you got off cheap in the bar!! Never had one in my 40yrs of playing the game.

If you'll be using a face shield, the 7500 is the way to go. It exhaust down instead of out so it won't fog the face shield.

My parents have been using a pair of walnut lamps my grandpa turned for over 30 years with no brass tube in it. No problems, that's proof enough for me.

I've seen shops with white metal roofing screwed to the trusses. Pretty lightweight and no painting needed.

Steve, I just picked up one of these...CA's some velcro to one of the pads, put it in the extender and us it for smaller openings..

I'd think a local woodworking group would be better to join. Usually the members will help each other out and let you use a machine if you need it...free of charge!!

Mark, I've heard of people using a biscut cutter to make slices for inlay work on bowls...might work for this too. You could make a jig and do in on the lathe with a router probably too.
