+1 on all. Especially the exercise program. 6yrs makes a big difference. Lifting and tote’n sheet goods and materials as well as finished product can be a pain so consider material handling.

I have to say gravity always works. An alternative it to spec/select long extension springs. One each left and right. They will provide the motive force in place of gravity and the drawer will...
ROFLMAO!!! True then add in Tensor math and LaPlace and I really do understand why Cast Iron is used for table saw and how it damps vibrations because of the crystal structure...
Really good point on the possible effects of excessive static on the electronics. Not something I've needed to consider...yet ;-)
Any time I dry grind I do it with the garage doors and windows open and a mask or I run a pair of Honeywell 50250 True HEPA Filters that pull down to 0.3 microns. I don't run them when I'm cutting...
ditto on the sanding if they are light scratches but if you are going to a machine shop make sure they have a surface grinder. Most shops don't have or use one. And you really don't want them to mill...
Based on the T-Shirts I see the youth (High Schoolers) wearing it's Led Zepplin, Black Sabbath, and Pink Floyd.
Ok - finally added an 8" diameter table to my portable band saw - wow doest THAT make things easier. Teh plate is 8" diameter 3/16" thinck A36 Structural Steel - so fairly soft hence easy to drill...
Well I finished the Hall Table for my wife. Not sure about teh top - she may yet change it to quartz. The primary wood is clear pine stained with Minwax Jacobean and 2 coats of Varathane semigloss....
Well I can finally claim a couple of finished projects. I wrapped up an 8" steel table on my portable bandsaw.

Makita, DeWalt, Porter Cable - all corded with different blades so I can "grab and go" I like them all. I do use edge guides and yes the saw can wander.

+2 on sloping unless you are really up for a "design feature" You could just turn your "trench" into a water feature/stream.

It is time to say Goodbye! It’s been thirteen years since I started this website in July 2005. It was, in many ways, an...
JTK - thanks for the dimensions. My thought on threading is to get a coarse thread bolt and cut away the threads in 3 equally spaced places to make a tap. Not sure if that will work but if it's...
ROFL - I initially read it as "Hysterical..." It is a bit of heresy I hadn't considered but I may under take. This is a good solid user (aka not pretty), not a lot of the plating left, some...
I picked up a Stanley No 45 (7?) that is missing its Skate Knob. It is the older one that threads directly on to a cast stud on the skate. Does anyone have a pattern, dimensions, thoughts, ideas to...
Not sure of your location and permitting but 1) don't do it - your brief description doesn't sound like it will meet NEC - that's important because if it doesn't meet NEC the insurance company won't...
I just chuck a bit, slap my Wixey on it and zero it then drop it on the table and square it to 90. It takes about as long to do it as its does to read this and it's well within tolerances for wood...
Troll for a set from Aldi if you can find them. They usually show up in the stores in the Spring and Fall. Or you can go for a piece set of new Stanley Sweetheart 750s for ~$85. Or troll eBay but...
