Have you checked that it is not aligned?
LL is located near the back edge of the table (away from you). You have to look up from the bottom.
Thanks for everyone's suggestions. Sorry I wasn't clear about what I've done.
The boards that I can feel the glue lines are only maple. I always uses TBIII for my cutting boards and I usually left...
Hi,
I made some end-grain cutting boards as gifts. I use a home-made drum sander, followed by a random orbit sander to 220 grit. The wood feels smooth but I can definitely feel the glue lines...
I totally agree!
I'm learning to sharpen my first hand plane: BU jack plane. Since the angle is critical, I need the honing guide to maintain the correct angle.
There are a lots of great suggestions I need to...
Thank everyone's suggestions. This forum is really wonderful. I was actually making a wood stop before I saw Nick's suggestion :)

Hi,
I recently started using hand tools (much quieter) and bought a Veritas honing guide and a hand plane. I found that the registration stop in the guide seems to dents my plane iron because I...

Hi,
I noticed that my live centers have a clear scratch mark on the MT2 from my Jet 1221VS lathe. It was there probably when I bought and started to use the lathe. I tried to feel if there was...

I removed the belt and rotate the spindle freehand. It is very quiet forward and reverse. I think the noise was coming from the motor (remove the belt and still having the noise). Not sure if it's...
Thank everyone's suggestion, especially Roger. I was surprised to see so many people replied. I leveled the lathe (put a piece of cardboard under the headstock) and it's aligned!
However, the...
Hi,
I recently bought a Jet 1221VS so I can start to do pen turning (and hopefully bigger stuff soon). However, I found that my lathe has a noticeable misalignment between the headstock and...
