Do not take a blood thinner -- strokes are either a bleed or a clot and you can't tell which. A blood thinner like aspirin would be bad news if you have a bleed.
Get to the ER!
Thank you, I'll keep that in mind when I go to set it up.
I'm excited to try it out from reading these glowing reviews!
I bought a Stanley 151 on eBay and the iron turned out to be pretty badly pitted on the back. This just came in the mail:

I've been curious about this steel so I decided to pay the...
I see, I've never used a bevel up plane and didn't realize this. Thanks for that
I thought this was the usual way of gripping a plane, no?
It's worth it's weight in patina
What kills me are cast iron planes that have a chunk broken off the side and are discounted a mere 10-20% or so. No thanks
I have the same attitude and have a hard time convincing coworkers that sometimes the home-rolled solution that fulfils one specific need is, in the long run, a better solution than using the 2% of...
Sometimes the concept is more important than the execution. I love that model of that building I've never seen
Luke, I'm curious about what are the things you make that you'll need this little shoulder vise for?
I have the Lee Valley digital one - it's ok but I regret getting a battery-powered caliper. I'd like a half decent analog one.
I agree that slotted screws are the most attractive. Robertson screws are the easiest to use. I use Phillips when overtightening should be avoided.
Handyman jack plane. It's ok for rough work but it's finicky and I don't feel joy when I pick it up like my others. My antique Stanleys are my best performers so I'm keeping my eyes open for a #7 of...
Whatever you do, be sure not to trap moisture below the floor and ensure there's plenty of air circulation under the floor -- I speak from experience!
Sometimes I get the urge to educate them about the thing they're selling and obviously have no idea about what would make it good quality. I never do, but my wife hears about it later lol
Maybe it's for people who have the same question and find the thread by searching.
Tom, I'll post a pic of the entire chisel tomorrow. I'm not sure the handle is original.
I've seen that booklet, thanks for posting it though. I'll email them directly, I didn't realize they were...
It's funny you mention the reground firmers -- I've picked up a couple of those too along the way. And not executed at all well! Thankfully I didn't buy the 'sorby' chisel for the branding, I only...
I bought this firmer chisel as part of a lot at an online auction last summer (or maybe a garage/boot/yard sale? I can't remember exactly) and it's stamped Robt Sorby with the Kangaroo icon, but the...
And here I thought my antique Baileys were cool! That is really neat. I've been bingeing on Time Team lately and I can imagine their excitement if they dug up one of those haha
The wood database lets you filter by different characteristics -- you could play around with the hardness and density filters: https://www.wood-database.com/wood-filter/
That's a bummer
Where I live the electrical code calls for GCFI's only for single-pole breakers. If it's the same for you and you have any machines that can be wired for it, a 240V circuit with double-pole breaker...
The most important takeaway from the video is that the glue is stronger than lignan. Lignan is the natural stuff found between the wood fibres -- it adheres the fibers. Lignan is umpteen times weaker...
