Hi Bill,
Yes, thanks for pointing that out. The case on my machine has a cut-out for an extension box, which I can buy for $40 or so plus shipping. They look funny with the box mounted but they'll...
Appears they're available via Alibaba, if nothing else.
Thanks for the suggestion.

Lesson learned, thanks.
At the minimum, I need to install a meter and tweak a few jobs... It doesn't appear that the "pad" processor re-scales against the preset Maxpower setting, it just limits...
Dave, it looks like I owe you a beer.
I haven't actually measured the current yet, (can't find the panel meter and don't want to risk my good Flukes) but I loaded a piece of scrap and started...
I'll give that a try. I think I have a 50mA panel meter in a box somewhere, I should mount it in the sheet metal on the back of the case and leave it in circuit.
I've attached a photo of the machine...
Thanks, Dave.
No, I haven't checked the current. I assume the best way to do that would be to set the "power" (PWM duty cycle) to 100% and put a suitable milliamp meter in series with the cathode...
Hi John,
An arc is always possible, but in this case if there is one I haven't been able to find it. No carbon tracks or marks anywhere along the HV lead, or where it passes through the sheet...
We have what's claimed to be a "50W" Chinese laser, roughly 6 months old. I'm under the impression these are actually 40W tubes that test better than 40W.
A couple of months ago the power supply...
Jim,
Not to niggle semantics here, but do you mean the 120V->240V step-up transformer supplied with the Rabbit lasers?
The reason I ask is because a John mentioned, it's a bit suspicious for...
+1 on buying parts from John. I've never been disappointed.
If you do happen to buy a 1.5, 2.2 or 3KW 80mm spindle, make sure to buy a decent quality collet nut and spanner. The Chinese units are...
I have a Keling 6090 that's treated me ok. Parts are pretty much generic, meaning nothing has broken yet that I couldn't fix with parts from any number of sources.
If you're in the US, a good...
Thanks for all the replies, much appreciated.
There's no question that buying an American-made machine would be a "safer" investment. I haven't made the decision yet, and I always buy domestic if...
Thanks, Joe.
That's actually how I found this forum - 'Googling' with different search strings in search of info. As you said, I did find support complaints but nothing much specifically about...
Hi folks, 1st-time poster.
I'm a long-time CNC router/mill owner who primarily uses the machines for engineering prototypes. I'm considering both small and a large-format laser engravers/cutters...
