I will take it. PM on the way.
Totally agree! Looking forward to seeing the rest, especially the base, the secret drawer, and the overall design.
Derek,
First off, I am sorry my question ended up leading to somewhat “passionate” exchange of opinions.
My takeaway is that there is certainly some strength in these joints without mechanical...
This is interesting… Thanks for the video, Derek.
I have been using miter joinery even for drawers as I like the aesthetics better than dovetails. I have always used dominoes as reinforcements and...
Hi Derek,
Looks amazing!
One question regarding the mitre joinery, is it just glue or did you use any other joinery? I am curious as I have been using this joinery for the last few cabinets...
Greg,
As you found out John is simply amazing to deal with. Can’t imagine it getting any better. Not only that but he is very talented. Visit his website if you have a few minutes.
I have not purchased from Tom, but only saw very positive comments for this tools. I am very surprised that this precision ground plane is still not sold at this price.
That’s great. Thanks for the link. Ordered one.
This looks great but wish it had the Kreg auto adjust feature. I have several Kreg clamps, they even replaced my Veritas hold downs using base adaptors to make them work in 3/4” bench dogs. I wonder...
Derek, great to hear removal was easy. Mine is still attached and would like to remove it, but I am not clear exactly how you did it. Can you please provide a bit more information, may be a picture...
Now I am really curious. Do you mean you have been using the same knives (same side) for 20 years? At least the knives I use (M42) definitely don’t last that long…. What kind are yours?
I had one that came with my Minimax CU300 combo. Never used it and sold it for $400-$500 several years ago. With Domino never felt the need for it.
I have not used my track saw in ages since I got a sliding saw. When I used the track saw (Festool), most accurate cuts I was able to get were when I measured distance from the reference edge on...
Yes, LN made chipbreakers that looked like the Stanley versions. Thicker versions are relatively new, may be in the last 10-15 years.
Enjoy your new plane!
I had the version with the 4” dust port as it supports far more air flow compared to 2.5”. If you want to lower the air flow you can use one of those aluminum blast gates. When the hose is...
When I had a Uniguard on my Unisaw years ago, I switched to Sharkguard for dust collection reasons and the dust hose came down from the ceiling mounted dust collection main header. Sold the Uniguard.
Once I damaged a blade on the Minimax CU300 I have when the splitter was too low and contacted blade teeth when the saw was turned on.
I will take the 85. PM sent earlier.
I will take it.
I will take the 9 1/2 block plane. PM sent.
Thank you!….
No worries. Happy for whoever got it. That was super fast!
I will take it.
Hi Rob,
What is the name and location of the sharpening service you are using? I am in the greater Los Angeles area and would love to have closer to home options.
