Gentlemen,
I have an opportunity to buy a pattern makers vise locally. As far as I can tell from the pictures, the tilt adjustment apparatus is broken/missing.

I lonely 28" 3.5 ppi rip saw followed me home over the weekend. The previous owner mentioned that I could always "paint a picture on it". For $5 I figured I would save it from becoming a canvas.

Lowell,
Leno's column used to be my favorite part of popular mechanics. Is it still there?
I'm able to stream a variety of the Wood Wright's shop episodes from PBS. I believe season 37 is the...
Steve, I contributed yesterday. It was $6. That's lunch at Taco Bell. . .one time.
Tony, I can't speak for my entire demographic. But, I am in my early 30s and am/was an avid reader of both this forum and Popular woodworking.

Jim,
My phone isn't the best picture viewer. That said, all those cracks look like failures along the glue line. Does that jive with what you are seeing?
If they are glue line failures, What...

I used regular old white pva glue to put my strop together. It's been holding for 2 years no issue.
I use water with a few drops of dishwasher rinse aid.
Clint,
The downtown store is very nice, its in a really old brick and wooden beam building.

Adam,
While many of the features changes between types are purely cosmetic, significant functionality changes were introduced as well. The biggest differences in my mind are left vs right handed...
David,
The threshold for the temperature change is programmable as well. I set mine at 1 degree. This wasn't verified with another thermometer, but the device at least agrees with itself.
I mix my hide glue up in an empty ketchup bottle (Thanks Don Williams) then heat it in an old style crock pot full of water set on high. The temperature is controlled using one of these:

Do we know if Lowell is alright? I am sure he has bigger fish to fry. But he hasn't posted since his last post in this thread.
The tote screw issue is an easy fix usually resulting from the threads bottoming out before you get a good clamp on the tote from the brass nut. You can correct the problem by grinding a very small...
I started down the neander path when I realized that my desire for a large industrial planer and the electrical service that I have had available were at cross purposes. Halfway through my slab Roubo...
This is pure speculation on my part, but I wonder if it is down to the availability of wide boards rather than labor savings.
Looks like a stylish place to spend eternity. Nice work Andrew!
Pat,
I'm not sure how much it weighs. If I assume it is "dry" @40lbs/cu ft it calculates to 266 lbs.
