I'm working on a couple of projects that I used Basswood on. It came out great but when I sand it the wood just fuzzes up. Is there a trick to getting a smooth surface or is it just how the wood...
Found the Ittura replacements on Amazon. They look a bit more beefy than the 1/16 inch thick Deltas.
Thanks

I think this is the trunion?? on the bottom of the Delta bandsaw. It's the piece that allows the table to tilt. It's barely 1/8 of an inch thick and is in pieces. Does anyone know of a better...
I was hit twice, turning and scrollsawing. Luckily I didn't have a subscription, I would just buy month to month. I had asked if they had considered going all digital. It would cut down on a bit of...
Not sure if anyone has ever posted this but it's an excellent video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TcmiPTIYIIQ

I had thought about picking up the T-3 or the T-7 and picked up a Work Sharp 3000 instead. I have added a couple of the Tormek jigs and have been very happy. I made my own wheels out of 1/2 inch MDF...
Sounds great. Is there a link to the tutorial? I'm a newbie carver and would love to try them.
I would be interested in this also. My carving tools should be here on Tuesday.
Thanks
Thanks everyone!
I have a couple of Forrest and Freud blades that I need to have sharpened and was wondering if anyone knew of a good place in the DFW area to have that done?
Thanks
Steve
Excellent!
The SN2 is not recommended for the 46-460. See the Teknatool site. The G3 is though. I have 2 and they do a great job.
I have the extension but do not use the stand. I have 2 Craftsman lower toolboxes with a laminated top I built. I bolted the top to the toolboxes and it does not move. The tool boxes are perfect for...
Where could I find the John Lucas router jig plans? Thanks
I have an extra remote switch from a dust collector and was thinking of using it on my lathe. I was wondering if it make cause any harm to the electronics in the lathe itself?
Teknatool does not recommend the Super Nova on a 14" or less lathe. The G3 and their midi chuck was what they recommend. If you purchase the midi you do not have to buy an adapter, it's setup for 1x8...
Love my 460. Variable speed is so nice.
Another vote for the 460 Delta. I have big hands and the belt change is a breeze.
I'm planning to be there. Do you have to be a member to attend?
One other great use for mesquite is the shavings. Throw them in the smoker with a 10 lb brisket and you have some great turnings and even greater BBQ!
It was a tough desicion. I nearly bought the DVR when Woodcraft had it on sale. I don't turn for a living it's just a hobby so I decided on the Delta. Very smooth running and very quite. I need to...
Picked it up last weekend and had some time to unbox and set it up. Huge difference from the Jet 1014. Love the variable speed. Now if it was under 100° I could go out and enjoy it.
Anyone know of a source with a great price?
Update: 2 more estimates. One at $1400. 00 and one at $1500.00. That sounds more like it. Both gave the option of surge protection also. Both include all hardware and pulling a permit from the city....
