After two weeks of struggling, it was the USB cable... I had tried a different one in between, but that one apparently didn't work either, so I didn't think it was a fix. I am now up and running...
So at this point, we have tried just about all we can. Nothing seems to be working. None of the tests are showing consistent results of any sort, so the supplier is going to be trading my machine...
Still trying to figure it out. I have tried nearly everything, and to no avail. Yesterday I was able to do some pretty nice engravings when I only engraved files with one object. BMP didn't work or a...
Unfortunately that was not the issue.
Ok, so here is an update picture. Still haven't figured out the problem, but perhaps this can give some more clues.

I exported that file to the laser at 350 sp, 20% power, and 300dpi. I...
Hello Kev, I have played with just about every setting available. I have matched settings with other lasers that do the engraving with the exact same file perfectly. Thank you for the input!
Glen, I added a border around the engraving to make sure that it was going the same distance for the whole engraving, and that does not fix the problem. So I don't think that this is the issue.
I bought my Rabbit from him, but I bought my second one closer to home. I have experienced first hand that Ray and Carole are excellent to deal with, and the guy I bought this one from is as well,...
Bert, I don't think that is the problem. I have tried on baltic birch, solid poplar, and solid spruce. All with the same results. Here is a picture with both machines on the same piece of wood. The...
So I am having this problem with my CO2 laser. I have two machines which are both chinese based. Same wattage tube and everything. The one is showing up like it is supposed to when engraving at 350...
The Rabbit SD-XX-6040 has a Ruida controller. I have the QX-80-1290 with the Ruida controller and use Lightburn.
I bought an aerosol of the Ultra and just from my first test, I had the same results. Not solid coverage at all compared to Laserbond or the 6000.
I have checked all of those things. I have re-aligned my machine, tightened the belts, tightened all the set screws, and checked the lens holder. If it was something loose, I would almost expect the...
Thanks for the replies. I don't think it was a bad tube at all. I have had to do almost no re-aligning since I've had my machine, so I find it hard to recognize different things when it comes to...
Would it be safe to say this is a bad tube? This is marked on the mirror directly by the tube. The tube lens is clean.

I have actually done very little YETI's compared to the Polar Camel mugs. I have also had a better experience with the latter. I wouldn't say that they always have consistent powder coating either,...
Thanks for your input guys. I appreciate your time. After thinking about it for a bit, it also doesn't make sense that it would be the laser as no parameters changed during the duration of the job....
I am not sure how to reply to multiple people in one reply, so this might be a bit jumbled.
Bert: I was using my rotary for this.
Scott: I am not sure how it could be in the cup before...
Does anyone know why my laser appears to be "scratching" stainless steel mugs? On the attached example, it "scratched" the surface until just before the word "FIRE", but not past that. I have tried...
I will second the Rabbit option. I have had mine for a year and a half, and the biggest problem was a fualty tube which was replaced under warranty. The machine performs well, and the service is good.
Thanks for the input John!
I kind of figured so, which is why I am hoping to get a little input.
That is the hard part, I can not seem to find any pricing for that kind of work. A few prices here and there, and then the...
That is exactly the idea. My "stopper is actually so makeshift, it is usually just a piece of acrylic with two-sided tape stuck to the frame of my roller.
I don't know if this would fix your problem, but one thing that I did that seemed to fix all my problems while rotary engraving mugs is putting a socket inside the cup. I used a 1-1/8" socket until I...
Hey everyone. I have been in the business now for little over a year and a half. Still learning how to price stuff. I have a potential customer who does books across North America, and one of the...
