Hello
I did hold it as level as possible coming out the other side. My old jet did a better job I feel than this Hammer. I want to give a fair shake.

Hello
I had just bought a new machine and have had it for a month now and have not had much time to mess with it. I sold a jet 12JP machine and the only reason i did that was I wanted the carbide...
Thanks Michael, I see your in Colorado. We moved from there little over 2 years now. Lived in Colorado Springs.
I was thinking the same thing on wearing out the 450 dollar grizzly one for that...
I did make a call to Oneida and talked with Guy. It seems the super cell maybe the way to go. I may just keep the old grizzly for the CNC machine as it does a good job on that. I did order one of...
thank you for the help , great site here
Hello
I bought a new hammer jointer planner and not the happiest with it as it was way out of adjustment. They give you about zero instructions on how to adjust it. I have talked to them a few...
I was checking out the DC-1450 from baileigh. Found it on sale for just under 2k. Looks like they have been making that unit for about 10 years now. Seems that would be about double the power from...
Thanks for the info on the super cell. It’s yours the turbo or standard model? Is the turbo just a bigger motor? Thanks
Thanks for the reply's. I wanted to have a budget of 2k but I know it will be more like 3k to find a nice machine. With buying a CNC this year put a big dent in the toy fund. I do like the harvey. Do...
Hello
I have a smaller 1 stage grizzly dust collector with the filter on top and the plastic bag on the bottom.G0583 It has worked fine for me but with having a CNC now and the bag is a pain to...
I find my self in the same boat now between the the Felder and MM. I read through this thread and no talk of the AD531. I just don't want problems with the beds with spending this kind of money. I...
I found this chart from carbide processors. So with wanting to stay with in the feed rate chart green area. This chart did not separate the type of wood but for the speed of 160 that the white side...
Thank you very much for the reply. I meant to say 1/4" but will look up the chip feed rate like you said. I don't mind taking a extra pass to save a bit and have a better finish right now. The 1/4"...
So the speeds they have listed is not a good speed? What should one be running the 1/2" bits at? I'm guessing their is some kind of formula? thank again Dan
Hello, Yep you all were correct. I had the RU bit and not the RD bit. The eyes are getting old and Whiteside don't mark then very well. I do have a UD2102 bit that was included in the set I bought....
Thanks for the reply. I will double check which bit I grabbed out of the kit I bought from Avid. I thought I had the RD one. Will let you know what I found.
Hello
I just got my new CNC going here last week and this weekend I wanted to cut some hold downs out of some scrap BB 3/4" I had. I used the whiteside 1/4 Down cut bit but the tear out was...
Thank you for the reply. I'm sure a 2x4 machine would do most of the work I have planned for it but I want to be able do make MFT festool tops and they are larger than 24" wide. I have looked at the...
I checked that out again 32 grand for a 4x4 machine is way out of the budget. Not many 4x4 machine in the 15 K max range. I just really think the 2x4 will be two small as projects grow. I just like...
I see this is a very old post. Just trying to find out more info on the shop bot. Just don't see very much on you tube. Are they a better machine than the Avid? thanks
Hello again
I'm about done with the new house and been working on the shop also. Time to get a machine ordered. I have asked questions before about the avid and how sturdy the legs are. I was...
I need to replace my table saw I sold last year when I moved. It was a grizzly 1023. I was happy with it for the most part. Dust collection was very poor I thought. Should have just kept it but space...
I have been checking out the Avids a bit more but it seems they really shake around while running. Is it because of the light duty leg kits they sell? If one welded a steel table and set a 4x4 pro on...
Thanks for all the replies. Not sure on which way I want to go. I'm wanting a 3x4 or 4x4 machine as I think anything else I will regret that I did not go larger in size. I like the camaster Stinger...
I did see that video also with him pushing it side to side like that. I would not think that is a standard operation problem of a cnc router. Avid is on the top of my list also. I like that it could...
