Thanks for all the helpful comments. I've been a long time contributor to SMC so it's more an issue of my iPhone and not having the right app. I've used this phone to post pics before and never had a...
I keep seeing my photos upside down and can't find a way to correct this. Please let me know how to change this.
I'm trying to repair an antique mahogany dresser missing a trim piece separating two...
I would agree with all the above statements.
I was reading in the New Yorker magazine, Nov. 30 issue about a high end carpenter/craftsman, Mark Ellison who builds out apartment projects for billionaires. His projects are in apartments and...
I saw this ad and thought someone might want this. Too bad I don't have a use for this saw.

My wife had a cluttered stack of frequently used salts, peppers and seasonings by our range. I took an extended break from another project and decided this was perfect for some apple wood from our...
Two days ago I posted a plea for help to fix a bad furniture assembly of a cherry bedside table. I got lots of good ideas and encouragement. I wanted to described what worked best in this situation....
Thanks for the idea!
Thanks Bradley, it's going to be a long road of learning ahead.
What a great idea! I used TB, I'm not sure which one but it was definitely interior use only. I used the same glue on a garden gate that came apart during the winter. and I had to re-glue it with...
Thank you, it helps to have beautiful wood. I bought this wood from a cabinet shop retiring and now I wish I had bought more wood! I know what you mean by learning by failing, too well!
You may be right but I hope I don't have to dismantle it. I've never so much trouble getting everything to fit precisely. But I might just have to do this. Hey, I've got lots of time as long as I...
I only thought of shortening the long stretcher instead of replacing the short stretcher with a longer piece. I like your idea of flush cutting and starting over. That might be the best course....
Good to know I'm not alone in the penalty box!
I think it's the camera angle. I checked the corner to corner diagonals and they are even. Thanks for looking.
I've put off this cry for advice because of embarassment. I can't seem to think of anything but bad solutions.
I carefully adapted a Fine Woodworking article "Build a Bow-Front Table" by Charles...
There were so many excellent suggestions I was confused about the best way to go. After a few days I decided I'm going to rip the board with my band saw just to be on the safe side, then re-glue the...
Lowell and Rob, I'm worried about gluing in a peg on the underside because the wood is barely 3/4" thick.
Prashun, I think this might be an excellent idea. Some of the other wide cherry boards are cupped and it would make sense to split this one since it's already cracked.
Thanks for the idea!
Mike, this sounds like a clever idea and it might just work, especially if I open the holes up larger. Thanks!
I thought about a butterfly but wanted to avoid the extra project.
I like the syringe idea and definitely like the packing tape. I'll looking into the West system epoxy. Thanks!

Last year I bought several cherry boards from a cabinet shop that was closing down. I assume the boards were there for awhile and were stable. I'm presently building a pair of cherry...
Glenn Bradley, that's what it's called. Thank you for setting me straight!
I've been racking my brain trying to remember the name of the decorative designs cut inside a piece of wood. Must be my age. The design is commonly found in Arts & Crafts pieces and they are usually...
