Someone on another popular woodworking forum believes that the SawStop fence is a 'a lightly modified JessEm Mast-R-Fence II' (That's enough to google the original review).
Sorry Jim, I edited my post to add the bit on adapting it for the table saw.
Lee Valley sells a T-track plate (base) for toggle clamps here:...
Congrats! Depending on the age the bearings can be a non-standard size (my Walker Turner dates to 1935). You can see one apart for cleaning here-...
Loctite sells Freeze & Release spray. It reportedly works well on small bolts (but isn't effective on larger ones, say 1/4")
I won't post this answer from Tony Ferrato, the technical sales and service representative at Forrest Manufacturing Co as reported in Fine Woodworking, but I will include the link:...
I'll just add you can send your Forrest blade to them for repair cheaply. Like $40-$50 depending on the damage (don't ask why I found that out!)
I found the cut quality of supplied SS blade worse than my Forrest, so I reserve the SS blade for construction lumber.
You're right Derek, I meant glueless joinery. I was curious on how solid it was after time since it's a good size for my small shop.
In the Fine Woodworking issue #258–Tools & Shops 2017 there was an workbench held together via pinned joinery (I think) with no glue designed by Eric Tan, a Taiwanese woodworker. I’m intrigued by it...
I understand you didn't expect to spend the time to assemble it, but if you're moving it into a basement (like I was), it's a feature, not a flaw!
Here's one describing a torsion box made from baltic birch 72"x24" and 2 1/2" thick :

I used an appliance dolly too to move the cabinet saw into the basement (wings & rails off). The 6" Delta jointer I removed from the base & carried it out of a basement to my car & back into my...
Here's one "Dovetail Design" 1984 by Mark Dugenske,- https://www.highlandwoodworking.com/dovetail-design.aspx
I found the cabinet saw had a smaller footprint than the comparable contractor's saw. No motor hanging off the back. Before I bought I made a wooden strip 'outline' of the one I was thinking of to...
Just a quick note- the 3hp Sawstop is 13 amp and comes with a 15 amp style plug (at least the PCS does). If you don't believe you can download the manuals from Sawstop's web page.
I was watching Phil Lowe's 'Build a Basic Workbench with Built-in Storage' on youtube recently (highly recommended just to see how he worked along with his 'The Art of Woodworking' youtube series)....
When I moved my PCS into the basement I asked Sawstop how to do it. They knew right off the bat & suggested I rent an appliance dolly. Worked like a charm. Give them a call.
Right side mitre, Left handed person. I like the support for a long fenced mitre gauge & stock on the right side.
If I had to do this, aside from stainless steel I'd be thinking tempered glass (safe to 470 Degrees F) which is easy to clean. I doubt anything else is up to code, and if there's a fire gives your...
Good eyes; I own the PCS. You're right- it's probably due to the brake cartridge. I don't notice problems ripping, but don't use the saw for ripping sheets and use Magswitch featherboards for most...
I ordered a Saburrtooth 4" Sanding Disc from a Canadian company in August that was out of stock. It only took them 3 months to have it shipped in from the States. Ditto something from China- ordered...
Two ways I can think of are pipe clamp vices & using veneer press hardware for making moxon vices.
You can buy the Festool top separately for about $140US and if you check the local classifieds online you'll often find guys with CNC equipment knocking them out cheaper. They're considered...
