Yep totally agree. It’s called “lowering the cost of sale” and unfortunately, companies don’t price in the value of quality customer service, knowledgeable sales people, and other hard-to-quantify...
Yep these are great. Time will tell how long they stay sharp.
AI is already replacing people. While there is certainly hype, it is having a real world impact. A team of low level marketing professionals who used to write content are now reduced to one person....
Thanks for highlighting this Cameron. Its a fair criticism to consider. I think if you read the book, you would find that the author leans on his experience as an expert in the national security...

I’ve had a 25-50 for a few years. It takes some practice to ensure you don’t gouge large table tops, but once you get the hang of it, the drum sander works well. I also push and pull the large...
Two mitre bars worked great for me on a few BB sleds. I used HDPE plastic but these WP bars look nice.
I have also used the Incra version and they work well if you mitre slots are accurately sized...

Its an automated marketing email that attempts to sell you compatible accessories... nothing more.
I couldn’t agree more with the OP. I have a masters in business from UT, but I’m also an alum of the BOCES program in NY. You attend 1/2 days for the last 2 years of high school.

As a fellow lefty, I can tell you - it’s awesome.
Very cool door Mark, thanks for sharing! Do you have any additional pictures?
That makes sense. Cut the tenons while the seat blank is still square then shape. Do you plan to hollow out the seat with hand tools?
Including arms that are connected to both front and back legs in your design will greatly increase the rigidity. You could likely reduce the amount of material in the seat to lighten the chairs up. ...

Yeah using the Oliver name always seemed a bit bait-and-switchy to me.
The DW735 seems to be the standard for bench top planers. The Oliver model looks similar to the DW734 and other bench top...
How about a LN 10 1/4 rabbeting plane in mint condition?
Its clear you don't have personal experience with a DW735/Byrd head combination, which was what the OP is asking about.

Clearly, your inserts are ready to be rotated or you have some other issue going on...
I've had four machines with insert heads, 3 Byrd, 1 Felder, and none of them have had any trouble with tear...
To be clear, you’re saying the Byrd heads do work, but they aren’t an upgrade? Do you have personal experience with a Byrd head in a 735?
I no longer own a 735, but the helical head performed...
BS. There are thousands of satisfied customers using the 735 Byrd head in question. There are tens of thousands of helical heads in use on the US jointer/planer market. I’ve owned both and they both...
Sounds like you were taking too heavy of a cut.
I planed 12” white oak blanks for stair treads for 2 hours in 100f Texas weather and never had an overheating issue using a 1/4 turn.
