One nice thing about Waterlox is that it repairs easily. I would lightly sand with 220 grit (by hand) then reapply a coat of Waterlox.

Agreed, JB Weld would be a good option for this repair.
Before you pick a DC, I’d suggest you verify how much you need to serve your system. There is a great tutorial here:

You are asking the wrong question- what you should be asking is what dust collection system (ductwork size and layout) do I need to adequately collect dust and chips from my tools. After you design...
Great find Jim. I’ve been buying my belts from 2sand.com. I think your Performax and my PM are basically the same machine.
What do you consider a light pass? I limit my material removal to no more than .005 - .010 per pass. I’ve also found that 80 grit seems to be the sweet spot For grit on my machine. . Anything finer...
Jim, MLCS carries some of the more popular GF finishes. Closer that Allentown, especially for you.
Having just finished up a set of 15 chairs my initial reaction was to recommend the bandsaw, but then I watched the video you posted the link to. For that mid-century modern style chair you would be...
Aside from Bob Lang’s book previously mentioned, I don’t think you will find many G&G plans.
When I start a new project, I buy a copy of the original G&G drawing for the piece I want to make,...
I’ve used Waterlox on a number of projects. It’s an easy to apply and durable finish, but takes patience. Plan on 6 coats minimum and don’t be worried if the first three look uneven. It will even...
According to OSHA, no:

I usually ask them if we are on a recorded line. When they say yes, I say ‘great, this is my formal request to have my number removed from your telemarketing list’, then hang up.
Looking good Jim! Thomas and I extracted 10 lbs of honey just last weekend.
8’ on either side is plenty to cut 16’ Stock. You just need slightly more than the length of you stock and a little downward hand pressure to hold the board. I have my lumber rack on the same wall...
Another text is The Fine Art of Marquetry by Craig Vandall Stevens. Craig teaches at the Philadelphia Furniture Workshop. I took the marquetry class last winter and really enjoyed it.
Yikes, that’s not good. Maybe the lesson here is to toss the finish if the fan has rust! I like that the Target finish comes in a plastic can. Also, I fill my cup using an old turkey baster so I...
I use the 190 micron also and have not had a problem. I get them from amazon-

Alan, I think you nailed it. I visited the Gamble House last summer and I stopped at Fallingwater last week on my way back from Indiana. They are both great in their own way. In both cases, the...
Wow, you got a lot done since I was over the other day, looks great! Can’t wait to see the sunburst.
Well, I have a lot of Powermatic machinery and I think most of it is of very good quality. However, I have to agree with you on the PM2800. I have the PM2800B and it is definitely not up to the...
Thanks Roger
Thanks guys. They were a lot of fun to make and a lot of work. Happy to have them out of my shop!
Personally, I think they look best in walnut, but if you choose another material be sure to pick one that will work easily with rasps and shaves as you will be spending a lot of time shaping by hand.
I apply Arm-R-Seal and Waterlox with cheesecloth all the time without issues. I work in my basement where it’s cooler, not sure if that makes a difference or not. I prefer multiple thin coats rather...
I generally use nothing on jigs, or a coat of paste wax if I need it to slide easier.
