Jeff,
I made one of those and I'll try and get a picture on here later (it's bedtime now). I can't remember where I got the idea for it...I've searched the internet with no luck. Anyway, I will post...
I too have a 1624-44 and have thought about the upgrade. Any idea why they are no longer available??
Kris,
I just saw this and I thank you for looking and for the comment. I hope you do give this a try, but be patient and don't give up.
I hate to admit it, but I've not turned anything for over two...
Brian, I think you have done a great job on this bowl, I love it and it would sell...you can bet on that.
Very nice work. Thanks for sharing.
Fine work my friend.
SUCCESS!!! I'm glad you were able to log in and post pictures. Now, I believe you have 5 or 6 more to show us. This piece is fantastic and I look forward to seeing the others.
I'm asking moderators and members if it would be a good idea or not for me to post pictures of Jim Adkins recent work along with descriptions as written by Jim. We spoke a few minutes ago and Jim has...
I totally agree with Robert and please do keep us posted on your progress.
I agree with Dwayne...hot melt glue and denatured alcohol.
Mr. Adkins...I'm glad to see this finally posted. This is a beautiful piece and I am happy you are sharing. Your talent is tremendous and appreciated. And a big thank you to Keith for assisting in...
A member of this forum is trying to show a piece he recently made but he's having problems logging in. Is there any way we can privately message like email?

Mike, you've done a wonderful job on this bowl!! I have made a few segmented turnings, both open and closed segment, but none have feature rings. Great job! I tip my hat to you sir.
Good to see a familiar name again! I'm still interested in turning but haven't done much at all this year and I'm ashamed to say I don't do much on this forum. Hopefully that will all change and I'll...
I have had a 1624-44 since 2007... I think...maybe 2009, and have been happy with it. Sure, I wish it had variable speed, but it has served me well. No big deal changing the belt and it still has the...
Jim celebrates a birthday today and I wish him a good one. We still keep in contact and I cherish our friendship. HAPPY BIRTHDAY Jim!!!
Thanks for sharing the WIP. I look forward to seeing more.
I too, love seeing WIP photos. I appreciate the time and effort that goes into a project and I appreciate the sharing of knowledge and experience.
An alternative to hose clamps is shown by Earls Small Segment Shop on You Tube. They work well and are cheap.
Thanks for sharing this beautiful work. Very well done.
I love this and all the others! Great sign also. Thanks for sharing.
Bill,
Great suggestions have been made so I won't add any. I will, however, welcome you to the vortex. Enjoy, and do consider joining a club.
