I just drank the Kool-Aid and bought the Festool 5" ETS EC 125/3 sander. I went with the 5" over the 6" because I thought it would be easier to handle.

Jim - I haven't visited the site much lately to catch up on threads so forgive me if this has been discussed.
I can't remember what the footprint of your shop will be but cutting down the high...
Thank you for posting this.
Here's to hoping that the importance of craft will not be lost in this digital world.
Looks like you are getting your money's worth out of the bus. That shovel looks like a coal scoop - looks like a workout. Good luck with your build.
Paul - good luck with your top. I haven't seen the Cosman video but I think edging the MDF with wood is a sound approach. I have a workbench that now serves as an outfeed table but was my workbench...
Nice job of presenting
Thanks for sharing. Sounds like a fun trip. My wife and I are getting on a train tomorrow evening in Whitefish; heading for the Oregon coast for a week.
We are looking forward to it.
I have one of these and it works great. Makes it a one-man job.
Looking very nice Glenn.
Keith - that looks like a lot of fun. Curious in '67 if the MC is single or dual-circuit. Might be something to consider if single-circuit. I don't think the modification would be that hard.
Jim - looking forward to following along with your progress.
A couple of thoughts based on my recent experience:
- High windows - let in winter light and sun and not so much the sun in the...
That is what I use if for.
If it is poly-coated Tyvek it could be washed. If the paper type, not so much.
We buy them by the pallet. Wouldn't think a single suit would be all that much $$.
Here is what I received back from my niece.
Sorry it took so long. I have been traveling. They are apparently still working on the name and address from the front of the card.
My wife and I have been babying our new floors as we finish the trim and some other work that I won't go into here. Today I got enough trim done to re-install the free-standing Vermont Castings...
Bruce - that is an excellent suggestion. I can't remember if I registered it or not. I know I have registered several tools over the years. I will find out tomorrow.
Thanks Bill. Right now I am having to move it around some. I think the replacement spring will take care of it.
My mortiser has a gas spring and it seems to work well.
Bill - as I said I don't really want to jury-rig something.
What I should have said was I don't want to come up with a Rube Goldberg solution.:D
My Powermatic has the same feature. In the manual it is described as "depth limiter".
I wouldn't remove it for the reasons Bill stated.
Thanks guys. I will try the suction method first. Don't want to have to explain to my wife what happened to her ladle...:D
OK. Thanks everyone for chiming in. I will take it apart and look for a spring when I get done with my current trim project.
Appreciate the help.
I have a 12" Ridgid miter saw and the spring that lifts the saw off the cut no longer functions. Parts are NLA. I haven't taken it apart. The saw is still a pretty good machine other than that. ...
Maurice - thanks for the video. I just watched the whole thing.
This may be of some interest. In the early 90s I was in Phoenix for some training and went to Mesa, AZ to the CAF museum to get...
Was just watching some YouTube videos a couple of weeks ago with a restored PT boat. Pretty cool.
I remember reading somewhere probably 10 or 15 years ago - in 1970 you could buy a P51 for...
How do folks fill a squirt bottle from a gallon can of shellac? I am talking about 16 oz plastic bottles with a flip up spout.
