[Zombie Thread Alert] I just picked up a used "legacy" (has the old blade guard) SawStop Contractor Saw (CNS) and after seeing it run when picking it up, removed the motor and saw from the stand to...
I have the Dewalt - wasn’t even aware of pinned blades. My grandson tried it when he was maybe 7…he’s a bit of a crafter…but he didn’t really want to use it. It’s nice that it’s quiet compared to...
News to me - I’ve had a Milwaukee Porta-Band that I’ve used for wood for almost 20 years - leaves a great cut. Back in the day I imported furniture - much of it from Indonesia - with extra long legs....
That is a good technique. The characters on this stamp made it very hard to distinguish between B, 8, and 6 - it was very subtle.
And...the best I could see with a loupe was SB-205-16, which is $6.59 bearings direct.
So...if anyone runs across this thread in the next few months and wants a couple of $35 JET 16/32 bearings PM...
Thanks Matt - you responded while I’m trying to get images posted from my phone. Does this help?
Here’s a picture - old on left, new on right

I might have found another difference between the Performax and Jet drum sander. Over the winter I ordered (2) Jet bearings from ToolPartsPro:...
So, do you think they do anything? Are you on the other guide slot now?
The docs Note: When installed properly, onlythe bottom lip of the Tracker will be visible. The top slot is to be used if the...
I am screaming inside - I just wrote a LONG post to this and then clicked the obvious "Reply to Thread" instead of the subtle "Post Quick Reply" off to the right. And lost everything. I've done this...
That's interesting - I haven't run across this kit before. I have a Performax 16-32 that I retrofitted with the Jet hood and Abranet HD abrasive, and it has taken quite a bit of trial and error...
The marine industry might be the place to look: this is 304 stainless continuous piano hinge https://www.fisheriessupply.com/taco-marine-continuous-hinge-piano-hinge-stainless-steel
Beautiful image and baguettes - but I'm not seeing the "end-grain" in the picture. What am I missing?
I found that the paper doesn't "move around", it moves to the left (in my picture) until it encounters another edge which actually tightens it up a bit. The only thing I have to do is periodically...
Hey John - noted you were in Missouri and was thinking of you this morning when I heard that Bass Pro Shops in Missouri is acquiring Cabellas. Just looked and they're in Southern Missouri. Lots of...
2.75 inch HD 80 grit Abranet here, using drum clamps not velcro. I modified the hood for 4 inch dust collection. I run hardwoods only with perhaps minor buildup. Lots of hours on this setup.

Nice buy, but you are right to be skeptical of the exact SKU that you are buying. I went through this with the Black Friday special on a Dewalt 20VMAX kit a couple of years ago - it had smaller...
How about cutting it all the way through and glueing it up as is? I don’t imagine the shorter length would be noticeable.
Late to the thread, but finally finished that knife box I mentioned on an Akeda thread a while back

Well I learned a lot today. I flopped the piece and moved the guides to match and the symmetrical pieces were easy.
I also dispensed with the 1/8" plywood I was using to sandwich the piece to help...
Well you can't put the pins on the opposite rail, so I came to the conclusion that I'd have to mirror the layout and produce new pin boards with that mirror.
Looking through the Akeda manual (PDF,...
Well, the Akeda manual doesn't show a box - they show a drawer with through dovetails on the back and half-blind on the front.
I just went back through the manual and didn't spot anything...
eBay a couple of months ago, and I also picked up some accessories from Akeda (they're out of the jig and fixtures but have many of the cutters).
Hi Andy - thanks for that suggestion. That "very light pass" sure takes a long time when you're doing the pins (and there are 4 edges like on the box I'm making).
I imagine the geometry issue is...
My first dovetails...went a bit overboard on an Akeda setup, new PC D-handle router, Pat Warner base...was thinking to build a knife holder for the kitchen.
And I'm off to a rocky start (see...
