Hmm. This is good to know.
This might not be the problem, but have you checked to make sure your blade edge is square?
After reading this I realize I've been taking my chip breaker off my Vertias custom planes all wrong these past couple of years.
I used the Lee Valley dovetail saw for a few years. It's a really great saw for the price. The only complaint I had with it was the composite back was quite thick and when I was looking straight...
I keep my router plane on a little shelf in my workshop. I did make the shelf myself, though .
Does anyone else feel weird about buying a plywood box for their woodworking hand tools?
Lee Valley customer service can probably answer this question for you if you email them. They have a really good reputation for that.
I have the older style micro-adjust Veritas Wheel Marking Gauge, and sometimes when I adjust it, I swear it's not moving at all and it can be frustrating. I still like using the gauge overall though.
A: The Veritas tenon saw is a great saw that is also fairly inexpensive as far as new, quality hand saws go. The only problem I've had with mine is the spine is quite thick and it sometimes...
My Gramercy holdfasts definitely don't hold that easy. I have to give them a good wack with a hammer or mallet to get them to hold tightly. I guess my set up is the issue, but how do I know what...
I use the Crucible hammer to set my Gramercy holdfasts. I've had no issues. If your Gramercy holdfasts aren't holding very tight, something you can do its to roughen them up with some 80 grit...
Richard McGuire has a number of project videos. I've seen all of them and they are all very well done.

edit: Oh, I see you have his website under "others".
He still does them on Youtube:

I'm new to his site as I haven't seen it before. Does he have a web store as well where he sells Japanese chisels?
I don't have any power tools or machines. I do everything by hand because I enjoy it. I have a cordless power drill, a circular saw, and a miter saw, but I don't use any of them because I don't...
Like a couple of other people have mentioned, I regret my Lee Valley #4 Bevel Up plane. Actually, I don't even remember if it's the Bevel Up plane or the Low Angle plane. That's how much I've used...
Nice restoration, Steven. What do you do to the metal parts after you soak them in Evaporust?

They look nice, but I want to feel wood on my tools when I work.
For chair recesses?

Why does WoodPecker release these tools and jigs for a limited time only?
Paul Sellers shows you how to make a spokeshave blade holder for sharpening.

I don't think I own even one.
There could also be a burr on the heel of the sole of your plane.
That one is from 2017. I haven't seen a new one for this year yet.
Paul Sellers had a pretty good video today, though:
