i blast outside on a concrete slab. you dont need a cabinet and i have figured out how to reuse the sand.
i use a router table with a 1/4 round bit to round over 1" x 2" pine. if i go the way you are supposed to go, it chips and worse depending on grain, if i run them on the other side of the bit[the...
i use a 3850 dewalt pressure washer with a sandblast attachment from northern tool. i have constant pressure and since it mixes with water i get no dust. i had to customize a tip out of boron carbide...

heres whats left of it after a large branch fell on it. on the sides was angle iron from a bed frame. another 2 pieces of angle iron mounted on teflon that fit between angle iron on frame. teflon...
i apologize for my snarky comments.
i understand. im just saying that if i cant afford to buy a 16" jointer, i can figure out another way to do the same thing. did you see the picture of the burl i did? if that was a 12' x 2' x 3"...
i built a router table that can do this. this piece is 2'x3' x3". i can do 3'x3'x12" with my table.
they told me i was over qualified.
i can do longer wood also.
since i can do with my router table the same thing you want to do with a wide jointer, then i must be a genius. there are more than 1 way to skin a cat.
i use the jointer for the edges of boards up to 5". i use my 13" planer for anything wider. if i need to square pieces larger than that i use a router table i built that can do 3' x 3' x 12"+ thick....
i also built a router table that i can plane burls up to 3' x 3' x 12" with my router. with that and a smaller jointer, you dont need that wide of a jointer.
i use manzanita in my business so have lots of scrap. i have a special recipe i use to soak the manzanita in before smoking my meat. turns out unbelieveable. add flavor to the wood instead of the...
do you want to trade for manzanita?
i bought a 6 3/4" makita hand planer for $60 at a garage sale and with a few pieces of wood, turned it into a jointer. with a planer, why do you need a wide jointer?
i can remove 90% of the wood using other means and use that router bit for the last 10%. this piece might end up as a lamp or a coffee table base. i just want to show the grain inside these burls.
i have manzanita.
whats the address? what sizes would be best. i have some dry but most is green. what do you prefer?
maria, nice job on that bowl. i want the perfect circles on these because its a contrast to the outside edges of the burls. i have worked with manzanita for over 20 years. my business is all...
heres 2 more and a live 1.
the burls will stay on. i think i can do it with that router bit if i first use a 2" forstener bit and start a pilot hole with it. with that router bit i will only be going down maybe 1/2" center to...
can you put a microwave in there?
i donated manzanita for this before and would like to again.
