Thanks for all of that info!
I need to install a subpanel in my workshop garage since my main panel is on the other side of the house, and it wouldn't make sense to run a few hundred feet of Romex.
I am trying to figure out...
Sadly it isn't just finding people to produce, but getting their hands on the raw materials :(
I would think anything #5 and up would make a fine shooting plane. Even a low angle jack makes a good shooting plane.
Yes mineral spirits
I do appreciate everyone's input. I was thinking 100 Amp in case I decided to get an EV down the road.
Maybe 60 Amp makes more sense, and down the road I can run a line off my main breaker if I...
Hey all,
I made a post about a week ago regarding the electrical situation in my attached garage. To run all of my new power tools I'm going to need to run a 100amp subpanel into my garage (have a...
I appreciate both of your comments.
So I decided to do a little investigating, and I actually have access behind my main fuse box via a crawl space. There is definitely plenty of access to run a...
My new table saw & DC are getting delivered next week.
Table saw pulls 15amp @ 115v or 7.5amp @ 230v
DC pulls 12amp @ 120v or 6am @ 240v
I'm sure I would definitely run into problems with...
Yeah I am definitely looking at my overall big picture. I can deal with a table saw, but as it has already been mentioned in this thread you're going to need to have a dedicated DC system taking up...
I am really trying to come up with a cost effective setup that also meets my needs. I came across the Kreg Adaptive cutting system, and it seemed to check off a lot of boxes. None the less how things...
1/2" Electric Impact Gun (great for when I need to pull the tires off my car)
Oscillating multi tool
Chisel set that I use when I don't want to damage my good ones
SAE and Metric ratchet wrenches...
Definitely not scared off!! :)
A little change between when I posted until right now. My other (better) half put the kibosh on the DW735X for now since we have a baby on the way in two months....
All,
Well I am 2 weeks from moving into my new home where my 2 car garage (approx 20'x20') will be my new "man cave". I'm probably going to dedicate the one side for my woodworking area, and the...
Also the Wahuda has 4 sided inserts versus the two for the Rikon model.
Thank you so much for the information. If I do end up going this route I'll definitely talk the person down some.
I am going to go look at a used Delta 36-725 off of Craigslist. Seems there aren't many decent cabinet saws in my area on the 2nd hand market, and this one is listed for $400 which I am sure I can...
How would you rate this for a hobbyist woodworker? Where would you say the limits of this would be?
Until you need to use it somewhere you don't have easy access to a plug. I would never go back to a corded drill unless maybe a specialty one like an impact drill that I may not use that much.
I'm beginning to assemble my hobbyist wood shop, and am researching jointers. I came across this one from Rikon, and wanted to see if anyone had any feedback on it? I can't seem to find any reviews...
Yeah I have definitely made up my mind about getting a SS. Now I am really considering if the PCS is a little overkill for my needs, or if I would be better off just getting the contractor version...
You guys rock. I am going to keep re-reading this post and trying to figure out exactly the path I want to take. I set myself a $5k budget more as a placeholder, and I am not opposed to go over/under...
That's a fantastic point, Jim! I might zero in on the first 2-3 projects instead of just the first one. They're all on the "honey-do" list, so none are optional :D
I guess technically my first...
Used will definitely be my first avenue of choice! I live in Lancaster, PA so there is a pretty high woodworking population here.
$5k is my starting budget. I do plan on adding to my shop over time. I would like to begin making end tables, and work my way up to a coffee table, and eventually a dining room sized table.
