I got a 50% discount on some cracked and chipped pieces of laminate from the local Ace hardware. Maybe worth asking at your local suppliers.
Congrats on your new saw Jacob!
I have a question. These machines are completely foreign to me so I was wondering if a power feeder could be added to one of the longer stroke machines to help with...
I use to use alumalite for offshore fishing lures. The water clear is pretty dam hard so it will probably be ok. You could build a little 1” dam box around the tenons and fill it with their mold...
Take a stiff rip of plywood and nail it down between the gaps in your decking. Make sure it’s flush or a tiny proud of your field boards. Use it as a guide with a quality flush trim saw. Might have...
I was in agreement with Paul about using a sled. I was maybe not explaining it well. If you fix the bottom first you can then use it to reference from to fix the top using your planer. Or do you not...
I admit I have never built one of these benches so I’m not sure if this will work for you. Plane it upside down on a sled with the offending board off the edge of the sled, flip it and then do the...
We did quite a bit of sprinkler work at my cousin’s nursery. Constantly moving and reconfiguring lines, heads, and soakers. A quick blast with a plumbing torch was the way to go. We also used the...
I would use Kreg HD pocket screws and glue. Made for 1-1/2” material. Two in one face and one on the opposing. I have used them for people who still want PT deck railing with very good results.
Did you open the front of the gun to see if there was a “hanger” in there?
Have a look here for Fernco dimensions under the documentation tabs if you want to go that route. There’s a few options for joining pvc to other materials which are all different sizes....
These are great thanks for posting. A couple from my framing days
putty n paint makes the carpenter what he ain’t
looks good from far but it’s far from good
how much money should I sand into it?
Hi Bill, what kind of dust collection are you using? The description from Lee Valley says the table has a 4” port to chute already in place. Sorry I don’t have a good answer for your question. I’m...
I might be tempted to use a slightly over sized hole saw and then make some sort of trim rings. Just not crazy about potentially routing into steel things
Thanks for the responses. I will keep all the suggestions in mind for the next time too. In the end everything got a very liberal dose of the boeshield. I did loosely wrap the hand tools with the...
I would definitely go for a sub panel and a few extra receptacles now. Way less hassle, mess, and exspense vs doing it later in hindsight.
Also, I’m curious why nobody has suggested changing the...

Came across this looking for something else. I remembered this thread so figured I would throw it out there. I...
I saw this while searching for something else, might be of interest if you could arrange shipping.

If it’s just plywood and pocket screws a track saw would be fine. I would prefer a table saw for skinnier rips, dados, and cross cutting. I have both and feel like I can get the table saw set up...
Good morning everyone,
I’m about to leave my tools for a few months. Going state side to help my mom with a few things at her house and do a little work with a friend as well. So do you guys think...
Hi Ned,
Depending how out of level your existing floor is would determine if you need sleepers on edge or on the flat. If it’s fairly decent you can rip 2x6 (pressure treated) in half and put them...
Thank you very much for the write up and links Charley! I think I have a better idea of how it works now. My reading comprehension takes a vacation every now and then I guess
I’m interested if anyone wants to share pictures of their suspension set up. I just have a bunjee cord hanging down which works ok for my small space but it’s definitely not ideal. Thanks
I have a cmt set, https://www.cmtorangetools.com/na-en/router-bit-sets/slot-cutter-sets. Haven’t used it much but it’s pretty versatile
I’m pretty sure you’re on the right track in that it’s a reinforcement. That part on my jobsite saw seems to be of a spring steel type alloy. Without it I’m sure the crappy insert would of deformed...
