I got a great electric branding iron with wood handle. It works great but take a lot of technique.
Is there an adapter to buy that will hold the wood handle in a drill press? Or pictures or...
Sorry. Here the history............
- While installing new arbor bearings, I must have deformed the top threads while forcing the bearing onto the shaft. Of course I did not realize this until...
its not the blade nut. Its the nut on the opposite end of the arbor, against the bearing. Yes its 28 tpi.
Where can I find this Delta Unisaw anti-kickback pn A28414? Every site I visit shows that part is no longer available which is surprising since its for a model 36-l552 that is still in production. ...
low probability. The threads on the arbor not is extra fine, 28 threads per inch and its a right handed nut for the left tilt unisaw
sounds right. My saw is left tilt and the arbor nut for both the saw blade and the bearing on the opposite side are both right hand thread. The bearing side nut is a 5/8-28 thread. Not a common...
Thanks for the input. After much running around, the arbor nut is a right hand thread and should be 28 TPI with a 5/8 opening. I found one on Ebay from seller "machacc" who appears to sell a bunch...
Its very confusing. Saw says built in USA with foriegn parts. I measured the arbor shaft again as carefully as I could. I set the jaws to 1mm and they were visibly larger then the arbor threads. I...
my bad. I should have clarified that the nut is on the bearing side or opposite side of blade. #37 on the parts list.
Hi Dave. Definately possible it was mismeasured. I took the arbor to a machine shop to see if they could repair and the head guy used one of those saw tooth gauges and said it was .9 pitch. I...
I damaged threads on the arbor and nut for a Delta Unisaw 36-L552. I purchased the arbor but Delta doesnt know when the jamnut will be available. Could be months.
Its a right hand thread, 5/8...
OK. I did not do a good job of explaining. Its the arbor shaft and nut opposite to the blade side. But from your input I realised I can measure the threads per inch and it is a 5/8 shaft. thank...
I damaged the arbor threads replacing bearing and cannot get the nut on.
Do you know what die size I would use to clean up the threads?
It a newer model 36-L552 and nut is righty tighty.
thank...
Thanks for that. Im sure the belts are a matched pair as the stamped letters that go off the edge line up perfect when I put them side by side. Do you mean oil between the fan and the shaft?.
Its been suggested that since the blade spins so easily (see video above) when not connected to the belts that the bearings are bad. How does that make sense?
I agree. I should do that. It will always be a nagging concern. If I go to all the work to pull the pulleys to check the keys I might as well replace the bearings.
I ran the motor unattached or no belt attached and without the fan....it was very very quiet.
I spun the arbor with a blade attached and it spun for a very long time. No movement or grinding when I...
Thank all. I did find after I removed the belts that that both pulleys were loose, jiggling back and forth. I tightened the allens and the jolting start up reduced significantly. I continue to...
I just got a used Delta Unisaw. The newer version with cranks on the front. 2012 mfr I think.
5hp single phase and prior owner put a big Powertech magnetic switch on it (just saying in case its...
How do you level the extension table to the saw table?
Use shims or adjusting screws?
This is what I though to do and would welcome your opinions.
First off I would me making the table from 4x8...
very clever!. Love the re-purposing of the saw cabinet
Awsome job Bob. I love the dust trap at the bottom of the router box. Nice work. You gave me some good ideas.
great inspiration. Wonderful setup. Im envious of the room in your shop. Thank you. thats a good way to attached the table. I can deal with a piece of angle iron and drill holes to match table...
awesome! good problems to have..being busy! good for you
