Yeah, I also play with machinist tools, talk about expensive cast iron.
I used to be the same way then the bug bit me and now I look for old machines I want or ones going cheap that I can rehab and sell.
I also enjoy cleaning up and restoring old machines. They truly don’t make them like they use to.
So like the title says when do you figure out you have a tool addiction. In the last year I have picked up a Powermatic 1200 drill press. Delta DP220 drill press, Delta 14” Bandsaw, Delta 8” Jointer,...
I like them too, but no I didn’t make one for myself and after making these I don’t think I ever want to make another one again. These are way to tedious for my ADD.
So after working 22 hours over and the last two days I have them finished minus putting the felt on.

Started the tear down on it this morning and finding lots of fun little issues. Oh well I needed a winter project.
Had a chance for a bit this morning to dig a bit deeper into it and looks like it's going to need to come apart and cleaned and lubed. Been sitting for years.
Most I saw locally was around $800 to $1000 in this condition. I will probably list it for that and see what I get. I would love an old Monarch lathe, Bridgeport mill and a K&T horizontal mill
Yes, there is no comparison between the two. So far I started my tool fund by buying an antique dining table got $5 and flipping it after refinishing. Also have picked up a Stanley #2 for $10 that I...
Yeah heavy is one word to describe it. Really close to 600 pounds.
Yes it is 3 Phase have a VFD waiting on it but this is about #3 on my list of projects. Definitely needs some cleanup work done and some new chucks for it.
Yeah the other oress is my wood only...
Don’t hurt me but I got it for 150. The production tables like this one are on a rack and pinion system. I am debating on doing a restoration to it, trying to flip it to put towards a mill or just...
Picked up this Powermatic Model 1200 20” drill press last night. Cheap auction win. 419576
Sorry that it has been awhile but been dealing with a shoulder injury. However got some pieces rough cut last night and started some glue ups. Sorry, fighting file types on images. Will try to get...

Well was scanning a local online estate auction and saw a lot that had one vague picture with a small plane so I took a chance and threw in a bid, which I won the auction for $11.50. Go to pick up...
Hey all, going to make a WIP thread for 2 Gerstner style machinist chests I will be building for Christmas presents. Going to be Walnut with poplar secondary wood and brass hardware. Planning to get...
It has been a few years since I have been active building and now that O bought a house a couple of years ago I have been working on getting my shop setup so I have attached some pictures of some of...
Kreg K4 system, and enough gift cards to buy everything for the cabinets/miter saw station I have planned for my shop.
I didn't use any fasteners in my build. The top is just titebond glue holding it, with M&T joints doweled holding the top to the legs.
I also did the top in thirds, then glued the thirds together.
