John,
I found getting overhead dust collection with the Uniguard difficult because the part that covers the blade is two pieces that move independently. That was the main reason I junked mine.

Mark,
What do you need the shelves to support and how long do you plan on making them?
Harry,
How high is the drop ceiling?
Well Pete made sound a little cranky but I agree with his answer.
I use ExLax when I have that problem, never thought of using a shop vac, but I guess with the extension hoses it would get the job done. I can see why you would want to exhaust outside though.
A 1/4" dado blade will indeed result in a dado larger than 1/4" if the board is flipped and passed a second time unless the first cut was perfectly centered, an unlikely event.
Curt's suggestion is a good one, do it the right way and 1/2" is plenty strong. It's not an all 1/2" or 3/4" propostion either, you can mix the two. Why not use 1/2" for sides and partitions and 3/4'...
Keith,
I'd worry more about your lungs than your planer. The jury is in on what long term dust exposure does to your health. Wearing a mask is all well and good but uncollected dust will always...

Actually that does werkie and you can certainly get that bit, but it's not a pattern bit, it's a flush trim bit with bottom bearing. I think we're mixing up terminology a little.

I use 3 layers of 3/4 ply glued and screwed together, covered with a replaceable hardboard top. The top is attached with brass screws to protect an errant blade. My bench measures 3x6 feet, I made it...
Clisby old man,
I say, using old shellac could pose a sticky problem for you, what? If it has gone bad it won't dry, and you'll find you've got a bit of a nasty mess on you hands, not to mention...
Whiteside bits/Holbren, good combo..never a problem and good pricing.
I have a Dewalt 735 and use that extended bed, it works as good as they say, virtually no snipe.
Seems pretty pricey to me, once you add a top your spending 3X what you were going to pay for that Costco bench. I've read folks say they love the adjustable bench but how do you see yourself using...
John,
How much is the bench without the top?
You mean as part of a micro-adjust?
