I feel and understand your pain. I've never had enough space in any of the shops I've had, no matter the size. It's maddening lol... and partly why I settled on the laguna 14bx. Imho, best of all...

I have a 14bx with a 2.5hp motor and it's pretty awesome for what it is but I wouldn't want to have to resaw 12" stock (although I'd like to). The plan is to eventually get a much bigger saw and set...
Ok, so I thought about it and the dollhouse idea is kind of weird lol. Was trying to think "outside the box".
How about a small/medium sized doll house? If she's into that sort of thing.
There's zero chance you can come anywhere near the price of pre-built teak furniture... it's taxed differently than raw lumber when exported. As far as quality, what John said. And a far a choice of...
Mark, I can only think of 3 things.
1) Is the epoxy expired (although you just bought it)?
2) did you mix it well enough?
3) did you clamp too tightly and starve the joint?
Seems like sound advice. I'm leaving the tool the way it is, I'll instead practice keeping the handle down.
Ipe works well outdoors as does white oak.
Thank you again, Edward.
Wonderful, thanks for the confirmation, Edward. Am I being over-cautious or is there decent potential for such a catch?
Does the left wing of a U-shaped, bottom bowl gouge serve a purpose or can I grind it back and out of the way? (Left wing - referring to the U facing up and tip pointing away from you). I'm trying to...
Kevin speaks the truth here. One way or the other, eliminate something.
Try both and you'll quickly understand. When you use the guide off the fence, just move the guide material out of the way (I'm not familiar with your device but I have to image it has some...
Bobby, nice work. Question: what are the 4 screens surrounding the smoker, inside the box? They seem to have no cavity.
Oh I think I understand. They're tins to hold what you burn.
If you're using the same exact spot on the fence as a reference/stop before you clamp down, you won't have any issues unless the fence is closer to you on the left than it is on the right...
...
If you're guiding off the miter slot, the fence is just a stop. In this case, if the fence isn't parallel to the slot, your stop will be deeper or shallower on one end than the other and your cut...
I just checked. Apparently they now sell a floor standing version of the viking (looks like just a longer column), which offers the same 4.5" quill stroke. The voyager is 6".
4 and a half inches. Pretty sure the floor standing is 6.
IMHO, there are way too many gimmicks in woodworking any more. The katz-moses jig seems like one of those (to me). I've used a sled always and always got square material out of it. The 5 cut method...
Hi Geoff,
The electronic depth control works as long as you're being very careful and moving slowly but you can muscle through quite easily. The turret stop is "ok". You're not paying for 3 phase...
I would just remake the boxes (if I'm understanding correctly, they're out of square)... also, I would redesign and exclude the slides for lots of reasons (since it's shop furniture), cost and dust...
Depends on the material thickness imho. At .09, you're nearly 3/32" so I would probably edge glue that first. For thinner material (and as long as you're using a vacuum press or similar), you can use...
I have a tormek but it never dawned on me to sharpen my carving tools on it, I just do those by hand. Too much setup (in my mind).
"Flood" the first day and come back and refill the second day after it shrinks. Should hold up fine.
Oh, not knocking it, just perspicacity wouldn't go out of my way to buy something else when I have a perfectly good tube of caulk (or 5) just sitting in a bin that'll work just fine.
