Thanks Tom. I didn't touch the quill. I had the sheave rubbing the motor housing and I can't see a wavy washer this big on any of the lower parts in the parts list.

In rebuilding my Mark 5 Shopsmith I had a part left over. It runs fine but I did not take pictures "before" so I am not qualified for the "after" solution!
Can any of you Shopsmith educated folks...
I blue taped a rag on the top so I wouldn’t get it in my face. Thanks for the feedback. I thought about gluing it back together but it just crumbles in your hand.
I just pulled my BN125A out of it's case and the air diverter was litterly rotted away in pieces in the case. The replacement part is $35 plus tax and shipping. The cheap Harbor Freight 18 gauge...
I do have several pieces of EMT in my shed to try. I am probably tone deaf, but I can make noise for the neighbors!
Thanks all for the help!
No Dave. just a round "wheel" with no axle hole. Thanks for the feedback.
I have a lot of 2 3/8" x 3/4" Baltic Birch "wheels". Any ideas as what to make with them? Yes I know what I can do with them in some respects! Thanks
Looks like the upper housing has changed and they have ER collets. The advertised price is $299. I guess Woodcraft and Amazon are getting rid of old stock they have "found" and their prices are below...
I just noticed that the Bora Portamate PM-P254 router is available again on Amazon and Woodcraft for anyone wanting replacement for broken Porter Cable.
Yes Rick. This came before your dust system. It did a pretty good job with the 2 1/2” hose keeping up with a jointer or planer. It has a 6.5 amp motor and was my go to before my Oneida. The small...
I accidentally found it on Amazon. "Replacement for Shop Vac Hose End Coupling Vacuum Cleaner 1 1/4" Wand Stub #88-1324-04" and it was $6.28. The hard part was cutting out the old worn out part from...

I have even upgraded it with an Oneida Dust Deputy. It collapsed the Rockler Dust Separator and broke the lid. It made an expensive garbage bin after that.
Thanks. Yes I did Al. I even sent them this picture showing the manufacturers label. They had no idea what it was.459594
They didn't have anything to sell me at any rate.
I have two very old Shopsmith vacuums that I think we're made by Shop-Vac in the early 80's. The problem I am having is finding replacement parts that fit the poor old hose. Attached is a picture of...
I would like some feedback on the Bora PM-254 router. I have been using a Bora PM-254 since last October with absolute joy. I bought it over a year ago as backup to the 4 Porter Cable routers that I...
Just replaced my least trusty PC with a BORA. I just wished I had done it a year ago! This thing is quiet and smooth running. I really like it so far. Do any of you use this replacement?
I have had a Shopsmith Mark V since 1982. Sorry to hear David has passed. We will miss his face! Last year I purchased an old Mark V and a basket full of parts that became a backup powerhead. It came...
Is anyone else having problem with PC Stick it sandpaper? When I remove it from pad it is tearing up the pad on my sander. It really sticks on and wants to stay on. I have tried several sources of...
Does anyone know where to purchase Behlen's Salad Bowl finish 603-0015. I think they have been bought by Mohawk. I have two very old pints but would prefer some a little fresher. I could probably...
Bruce, this was just a stain, not any finish or paint. Didn't have a problem with the Festool but I did with the PC.
Bruce, the hickory started out as bare wood and a stain was added 4 times after it was taken back to bare wood to get rid of the swirl marks. The Festool sanders are so good with dust extraction that...
Thanks Mark. I turned the sander on while on the board. (Both the ETS EC 150/3 and RTS 400.) I took it off the board before removing power. I cleaned between each grit with a vacuum of the sander...

Here is what happened no matter what I did.
The orbit is 3mm. Vacuum was at minimum and pressure just enough to guide sander.
I found this old link as I have been trying to re-learn how to sand with a new Festool ETS EC 150/3 EQ. I was trying to finish a hickory project and kept getting swirls no matter what I did. I even...
Rick, I have had a PC in my ShopBot for years. It started screaming at me yesterday so I replaced it with one I got off of EBay 4 years ago anticipating someday I would need it. Just needs bearings,...
