I was religious about de-tensioning the blade after every use. I must have had a bad one. It did last quite a while though and always performed well.
Thanks Jamie. Would you go with 1.3tpi or 2tpi?
I have an older MM16 with a 145" blade. My 1" Trimaster blade just broke and I am trying to figure out what to replace it with. I'll mostly be using it for resawing and ripping. I tried a woodslicer...
Do you have a planer? Make a couple passes with the stiles on edge to get them down to 2 1/2.

I recently made a picture frame with Redwood Burl. Finished it with Waterlox which definitely made it much darker. It soaked up quite a bit because of all the exposed end grain. I'd probably use...

The Mini Grip is nice. The AXIS lock is super smooth. The only thing I don't like is the handle. It just doesn't fit my hand very well. The diamond pattern on the scales is a little too aggressive,...

I did the same test with General Finishes WB Pre Cat Urethane after reading similar posts. The windex had no effect on my test piece which had cured for about a week. I even left a puddle of Windex...
What great source of knowledge. He will be missed. Rest in peace.
Same here. Two of my K bodies just grind when I tighten them. Tried lube, didn't work. I called Bessey and they acted like they never heard of the problem. I was told it was probably due to sawdust...
Have you checked the fence? Is it straight? Mine was warped and it caused the wood to pinch and the end of a cut. Makita replaced it but the second one was almost as bad.
Really nice work Larry. Did you make the crown yourself?
Steve
Great craftsmanship and nice door Sam. What kind of bit are you using for your template routing? Looks like some sort of spiral bit.
Steve
Definitely quartersawn ray fleck.

I'm building an exterior door for my home. It's north facing under a porch roof. I was originally going to use quartersawn sapelle but I'm now thinking about using cherry to match the interior trim....
