I worked in retail management for 12 years and used algebra a lot more than you would think. Comes in pretty handy.

I was lucky enough to ride dirt bikes as a teenager so I had some skills going into street riding. Been riding off and on since. Keep yourself alive. Drivers are idiots. I can't count how many people...
Sometimes I agreed, sometimes I didn't agree, with John McCain which in itself says he was his own man. And this country could use more politicians who wore the uniform. I believe he put country...
Those are lyrics, not music. :D
Starrett, the fit and finish is immaculate. The edges are both sharp yet eased enough they don't cut your hand. The numbers are etched, easy to read. The rule is either shiny or satin (your...
When I was younger and had less disposable income I bought speed squares, Craftsman squares, Stanley squares; they were okay most of the time, sometimes dead on and sometimes not. Then I bought a...
That is some nice joinery.
I've owned 5 lathes I think, nothing special, a few vintage and a couple newer models. If it were my money, in the $1200-ish I'd look at Jet and Nova. Jets are simpler but bulletproof, it seems. I've...
AC/DC is playable on almost any classic instrument, sounds great with or without vocals, and translates to many music styles. I believe they will be remembered, played, and interpreted, for a long...
I don't know if you ever bought this book, but I love the idea of building 52 boxes in a year. And I did recently buy the book. It's not exactly what I expected. I would call it more of a coffee...
This guy knows pizza.
I like light saucing, plenty of fresh basil (too much), and crust is the most important part. Bad crust is bad pizza no matter how good the toppings. And the crust should be...
On Instagram I only follow people who post their own work. If they post t-shirts, advertising, someone else's work, memes, pet pictures, or any other crap; I unfollow unless they are good friends.
That was my first thought after reading the OP.
I occasionally use construction lumber but only after it has sat in my shop for a year or more. Bow, cup, and crook can be dealt with but twist should be avoided. If a board is twisted when you...
And FYI, the Guardair guns are really sweet and US made (except maybe the really cheap model) but they do move air. If you ever upgrade the compressor I would consider getting one.
I would say you don't. Glue the blank from 2 pieces that have a kerf sawn down the center and drill out the ends to the right size. Does it matter if the center is exactly the right diameter?

New ones are behind a paywall. First 3 are free but low res and blurry. Good info though.
I really like the new format. They dropped the field trips at the beginning and the lumber is already milled and dressed ready to go. Big improvement. But I wish they would improve the quality of the...
People are in more danger driving to church on Sunday than working in their shop. But the danger of driving is familiar so we ignore it. But I've seen what can happen in a car crash and losing a...
For some, the shop is the hobby and they make stuff once in awhile because they have a shop so why not. There is nothing wrong with that. For others the hobby is woodworking. I'm a woodworker. I...
I bought a Fusion and it doesn't live up to the hype. It's good enough for the price, but I cannot get chipout free cuts in melamine like they claim and I get some crosshatching in rip cuts. It's a...
LOL, actually yeah, I wear a leather glove while using it.
I've been using mostly Freud blades for 20+ years but my satisfaction level with them keeps dropping. After having to return 2 of their rip blades, a crosscut developing a problem, and being somewhat...
I bought it for a dedicated 1/8 roundover so I'll probably just use it until it smokes and toss it. I only use it for about 2 minutes at a time, run it around to break the edges. I don't want to...
I'll cut my losses then.
