It is truly different from all the rest. All banjos are not the same.

Roger,
Thanks, I just wanted to be sure that the height is right. The online description says 16" banjo is 5 1/2" high and my Laguna is only 5 3/4" So the OneWay should do fine. I will talk to their...

The cam rod in my banjo has become deflected in the center, and the banjo is a pain to move around. As you slide it back and forth across the...

I had problems with my REVO 18/36 digital Readout. Gradually each number stopped displaying. I went into the box and saw that the 1/8" thick number display card had about 12 pins...
Mick, that's a big chunk of wood. With your bed extension, you are able to use the tailstock.
I will get the extension if i turn many pieces larger than 18".
Roger
I always use my tailstock on the large heavy bowls, but was considering hanging a larger one off the end.
Your attachment will not come up.
Thanks
Thanks so much for the excellent discussion on the issue of "lathe shut down",when you stop turning large, heavy, wet bowls.
No company's customer service could have come close to the information...
Does anyone know the Maximum Bowl Blank Weight without tailstock support for a Laguna REVO 18/36 ???
Joe
And thanks so much for the excellent discussion on the issue of "lathe shut down",when...
I do turn in the low speed range 90% of the time and I went to the high speed range only to test the conclusions we were discussing. Sorry to confuse the issue.
If it's the old style, it would have the Reeves Pulley System. They still make and sell that model, I believe i saw a new one recently.
Maybe it's the 1440 I'm thinking of
What awesome responses!!!
I've since turned some of my more common 12/13" drier bowls without the same problem occurring. If, however, I take some of these same 13" bowls and change the belt to...
Thanks Alex and Both Johns
I'm inclined to think I'm the problem after reading your comments. I believe I've been overloading the VFD by using the off/on switch when turning large, heavy. wet...
Thanks all
It started doing it with the big wet 17" bowls.
Based on your comments, I'll start turning the speed control to zero and see if that helps. Especially on the large heavy bowls.

My Laguna REVO 18/36 very frequently becomes totally inoperable when turning, and I turn it off to briefly inspect my work(off with the on/off switch not with the emergency stop). The power to the...
Mine is exactly 50mm
Thanks
I just ordered the vacuum gasket tape. It looks to be the best solution

Thanks all for your Comments. I'll first try the Craft Foam.

I have the Laguna vacuum chuck system on my 18/36 laguna lathe and it works fine. However, I use the HoldFast chucks, and I am disappointed in them as it relates to the performance/longevity of the...
This is not Pecan. I turn a lot of Pecan and Hickory from logs I cut. The bowl and bark don't look like the pecan i get from Pecan farms. It looks like Ash to me.
As a 2 yr owner of a Laguna 18-36, I found this to be an informative discussion. I haven't had a problem in this area, but was glad to learn something new about this series of lathes.
I have had my REVO 18/36 for nearly 2 years and love using it. And if I wanted a much bigger lathe, I would buy the bigger version of the same lathe, the
REVO 24/36, even if the Powermatic were the...
I finally ordered a Spartan CBN Wheel 8" X 180G from Klingspor's for $110.00, not an expensive one for trying out. I was amazed at the difference from the white wheels I have been using for several...
Speaking of sealers.....Klingspors sells the same thing as the Anchor Seal for a 16.95 per Gal. I buy it when in their Asheville,NC store. They say its the Anchor Seal Seal formula, and I cannot tell...
