I see old delta turrets and dewalts almost every day on marketplace in central minnesota
Older 141,143 Powermatic bandsaws had a solid 1 piece cast iron frame. They cannot be made taller for more resawing height. That being said a 143 is a very good saw. Buy it quick before someone else...
At $450 you got a great deal. Should work very well for you once you get it running.
New templates for a 7116 omnijig are made out of a rare metal called unobtainium. As in no one makes them. Finding a used one would be almost impossible.
Get a teco vfd from factorymation. Then get a cheap christmas tree light remote that switches 120v.Use that to control a relay with a 120v coil to turn the vfd control circuit on and off. Did that...
I use my dewalt radial arm saw. Perfect 90% every time
I got mine from blastgateco.com . They worked great, price was reasonable also
You are right you can apparently. However only on certain motors and it does not work very well
You cannot use a vfd on a single phase motor. 3 phase only
Keep the one with the better fence. I got rid of by 3 hp shaper with a crappy fence and upgraded to a delta invicta with a much better fence 3 years ago . WAY BETTER
I have a 3875 woodmaster sander that I picked up at an auction. It works great.
I have an older 3 hp version of torit dust collector cyclone. The cabinet on the bottom of mine holds about the same amount of saw dust as a 50 gal barrel.
It works great.
I have a powermatic model 60 from the mid 60's. I would not trade it for a new one
I vote for used also
A vfd can control 2 motors at the same time but they both have to start and stop at the same time. Also electronic controls of any kind are a BIG NONO, motors only
I also would not recommend...
Another vote for the woodpecker 26" framing square. Yes it is expensive but most really good tools are.
I used a 120volt christmas tree remote and a 2pole contactor with 120 volt coil for my dust collector. Works great
I have the 3875 drum sander. Works great I would imagine the 26 " one would work well also.
Cheap gas, then they get put back in the shop not used for maybe 6 more months with the old cheap gas left in them. I learned from personal experience , only use nonoxygenated fuel and run it empty...
I have an older blue 3875. It works great. If I were to guess I would say its basically the same machine as the new ones ,only a different color. Is it worth $1000, only you can decide that. A new...
Yes you could do that however the cord on your jointer is not rated for 30 amps. Also doing it may void the warranty on your brand new jointers motor.
I used to have a grizzly 1026. And yes the fence is a piece of crap, however most shapers like that whether they are delta, powermatic or any other clone are about the same.
Sold mine about 3 years...
Used it for drawers on a set of kitchen cabinets a few years ago . Planed it down to 5/8 & used a drawer lock joint on corners. Was very easy to work with and looked good with several coats of water...

i also have an RS15 . Got it running this winter after finding a cheap vfd for it. Top bearing is a little noisy . I greased it but I may have used the wrong kind and to much grease. Bearing is still...
