general DIY/construction forum

A lot of the posts here are about electrical, plumbing, flooring, drywall, roofing, windows, and other home improvement topics. A lot of the posts in the general forum are about framing, decking, and other things that aren't really fine woodworking.

Would it make more sense to create a forum just for these topics?

Those topics also come into play in the Workshops forum. As in previous discussion about adding forum areas, there's not a lot of incentive to do that because it adds to the management load. Off-topic seems to serve well for those things that are not workshop specific.
