My Hendey 14x54 lathe
Picked up this 1945 Hendey 14x54 gear head lathe last year, very cheap with a decent amount of accessories. turned out to be a really nice lathe.
Set it up about a month ago and taught myself how to make things out of metal.
First project was a new motor shaft.
Then about 100 things after that.

Congratulations Darcy, that's a lot of lathe.

I’ve run a lot of WWII vintage Monarchs that look very similar to the Hendey. Very stout lathe capable of ½”+ cuts in steel.

I have realized I need a small machine for really small parts and maybe a bigger one too. Lol.
14x54 is a good all round size and having a top speed of 1k rpm is good too.
I do love this thing.

Keep an eye out for a Monarch EE, a great 10" precision lathe with 5X the wheaties of the Hardinge HLV .
