lathe tool sanding jig

Hi folks,

Got this idea from a fellow woodworker. The thing is that the belt has to run up and not down so just roting the belt to the vertical position wont do. The other guy went through the trouble of reversing his motor but I just used some 2x6's to make a kludgy fixture to hold the sander.

I'm going to put either a 120 or 150 grit belt on it.

For the gouges you simply lay the gouge on the rest and twist it a couple of times. For the skew chisels you use the rest which is closer to the belt. It works great.

I do my fingernail profiles using Ellsworth-style jigs on my bench grinder.
