That's a job I'm sure you're happy is behind you! Insulation is such a necessary thing, but it's not a "fun" task to install.
You're going to love those mini splits. I'm already missing it here in the "temporary shop" for sure, as the dew point is currently in the mid-70s.
We were lovin' the mini splits today while painting the siding and trim boards. Got the DC shed walls up and bolted down.

With the insulation in, you'll enjoy them even more. :) And for pennies of operation expense, too. I may need to bite the bullet and put one in for my "temporary shop" just to cope with the high humidity that's normal for this area as well as the increasing temps that make it worse. It can be moved to the future building later...I'll likely do two like you have anyway.
That shed add-on is coming along nicely.
Got some rafters, ledger, roof sheathing, and fascia on and finished tying the DC shed to the shop building.

Nice! That's going to blend right in. Can we assume you have matching LP Smartside for the outside layer?
Yes. However the roofing will not match simply due to availability and timeline. This will be visible from the rear of the property but I can live with that :)Quote:

Thanks all. Dry-waller did not start as scheduled. Still trying to find out why and what the new date is. This is typical of the "I get to use COVID as an excuse for everything" period we're in right now. I really don't want to drywall over 2800 square feet of walls and ceiling so I am farming it out. I am still vacillating on painting myself or farming that out as well. There are plenty of other tasks that I will not trust to others so I have to pick and choose what I buy with effort and what I buy with money :).
The heat / humidity has been pretty high. The heat isn't bad when you're raised in it but the humidity sucks your will to live in pretty short order :D. While waiting on drywall I am finishing up the as-built drawings and photographs that I can use as reference in the future. I assume the difference between how I think I did something in the walls and ceilings versus what really happened will only get greater with time. :) Documenting things is so much easier now with a camera in your phone. It's easy to make your life easier by taking good pictures and filing them somewhere safe.

DC shed is roofed and skinned. The door is on and the roofing is stitched in between the structures.

The trim and the general touch up painting is still to be finished but, leaps and bounds the last couple of days.
That nicely matches the bigger structure!
If your drywaller doesn't work out, I have one who does good work. Of course he might be booked until Christmas, for all I know. Let me know if you need the number.
.
Thanks Rick I will keep that in mind.
I would think you could buy a good airless rig for a fraction of what you'd pay someone else to do the work painting. With a couple of different length tip extensions, you could paint everything from standing on the floor.
This is definitely a contender Tom. I can even rent a decent Graco right up the street.
DC Shed Exterior Complete
Well, that oughta do it for the outside. I think I will take the afternoon off. Tomorrow I will add the insulation. Still to come is the interior wall covering, electrical and of course, install the cyclone.
