I don’t enjoy blades that move faster than I can. When using my bandsaw to rough out small carvings, I’ve been using one of these quick grip style clamps. It works great on small pieces of wood. You can keep two hands on the clamp which gives you lots of control, just like two hands on a chisel. The only downside is you may have to reposition the piece a couple of times.
