Hey a cam inside or outside for that matter so you could watch it while you were doing design work on the puter would be neat. what would you need?
I removed the bed and cut a hole in the bottom of the enclosure so I could fit taller items into the laser. I also cut an 8 inch diameter hole in the side of the enclosure so I can fit items longer then the width of the laser into the rotary. The simplest modification is to put magnets on the safety switches so you can leave the front door open so you can engrave longer items.
1 Inside lighting
I have fitted a small flourescent tube (as used under kitchen cabinets) under the lid and wired it to the mains on/off switch.
(Previously I used an Anglepoise lamp sat on the back of the machine, but it got knocked off once too often).
2 Vacuum hose hole in the front.
Having made my own vacuum table, I needed to get the vacuum hose into the machine.
A hole in the front panel with a swinging cover to seal it when the vacuum table is not in use.
Lighting...
While troubleshooting my power supply and tube a while back, I cut the wires that go from the power supply to the tube and installed connectors that allowed me to place a "Wattmeter" inline. I used some long leads and kept the Wattmeter just above the laser's control panel where it gave constant realtime readings of voltage and current. I originally bought the Wattmeter as an aide to selecting powerplants for electric RC aircraft.

Cut a 5.5" square hole on the left side, and fitted with a door so I could do Paddles and Bats, and ongoing lots of longer wood with logos and slogans for a well known coffee store's renovations..
I designed an air intake to allows for outside air to be pulled in and vented out. Saves a lot on heating and cooling.
Drilled three 3.5mm dia holes in the top-left-rear of my mini 18 so I could get to the red-dot adjusting screws whilst in-situ.
