Veneer Identification
Hello all, first time poster. I was referred here by an online veneer retailer who had the same trouble I did in identifying a wood species I am trying to replace. I buy vintage furniture from thrift stores and rebuild/refinish it. Most of it is in my house and my children's houses, and I've sold an occasional piece. My wife is a fan of art deco furniture, mostly waterfall style and I am currently working on a dresser from the LA Period Starline line, which has a veneer I need to replace, but I can't figure out what it is. I was hoping someone here can help. Picture of grain pattern is attached. This is raw, the old shellac or varnish has been removed with lacquer thinner and acetone, and the wood does not change color with further applications. There does not appear to be any stain still in the wood. Thanks in advance for your help.

It looks like Mahogany. It may be genuine Honduran, or one of the others. I can't tell.
