I have been thinking of getting something like the one John Stankus (orig post) is considering... something to just use as a hobbyist... NOT to use...

Get1/4" thick glass... make a few small cutting boards (6"x6" or 8"x8") to set your hot pans on... Made daughter cherry bedroom set and put 1/4...

Found a small a/c that would fit with window cranked open.. Made small shelf for outside part, put cross brace to hold top & put plexiglass above...
