About John Meade
- Biography:
- I have been working with wood since I was 16 (now 52). I started by working as a carpenters helper on a rough framing crew and by loving my wood shop classes in HS. I am an accountant by training and woodworking is one of my hobbies. Today I enjoy furniture making, tool and jig making, wood carving, and wood turning. My big tools: a craftsman radial arm saw that I have had since 1977,a craftsman 12" bandsaw that I bought in 1983, a 20" Delta Drill Press, a 12" Dewalt compound miter saw, a 10" Saw Stop table saw, and, my latest addition, a Jet 1642 EVS Lathe. On my short list is a scroll saw, a belt sander, and a jointer. Today all my planing is done via a vast collection of old wood planes (mainly Record planes).
