Several years ago, I was refinishing a dresser and the top had been badly discolored by spilled liquids. Taking it back to "completely blond" and...

Here's the finished bowl. I've made an unusual choice here-- The bowl and base have been left detached to underscore the "hanging chain"...

Yes, you could make a cardboard pattern, but there's an easier way. Take a square blank and hang a chain from the two top corners, allowing it to...

I am not a member although have planned to join. I all too often have obligations which limit my attendance to meetings. I think I was able to attend two meets ever when I actually remembered and was available. Need to make it a higher priority. Looks like I am at least in town for the Feb meeting. Will add to my calendar and see what happens.
saw you friend request and not sure what it means inside the Creek, but sounds fine to me.
  2. David, I THINK I recall that one, but not sure; the madrone warpies come and go so quickly.

The bronze-ish look was a combination of that particular tree's color (it had a bluish hue) and a natural patina. If you sand it but leave it bate for a few days, it tends to turn reddish-brown, and if you finish it immediately it stays light-colored.

if memory serves, you posted a pic of a Madrone 'bowl', so distorted that it looked much like an old beat up bronze bowl. I am interested in the finish you applied to achieve the antique bronze look?
