I can try to send some patties but they may not let me ship fresh prepared foods. I'll find a way.
I'm fine with treats from the Islands. My wife has asked for your local version of Jamaican Patties. FYI- I'm in the first year of a planned reduction of everything I own, 10% per year. Tools, I've got in excess.
Hello Jim, I just got the plane, and wow- this is really nice. I have a care package for you, but am still trying to get a few additional items- so far I have a lot of spices from Grenada (the "Spice Isle"), and some from Trinidad. Also some Bay Rum (NOT For drinking- for aftershave), some local hot sauce, and a rum cake (the rum bakes off so it won't make you drunk- don't worry.) Trying to get some locally made coconut oil, and also sending some mahogany. I know you are trying to limit your tool collection, but do you have any use for a Stanley #79 side rabbet plane? Since I got the LN 98 and 99 set, I no longer use the Stanley. This HNT Gordon Plane is really nice, and I can't have a good conscious just trading you some spices and hot sauces!
Good day Jim, I have not seen it yet, but did not check the mail yesterday. I need your address- I have been putting together a package for you.
Wow, Jim, that would be cool. I haven't made much lately. Spices I can certainly get. What else interests you? Let me browse through the shop.
That sounds like a fair price. I'm sending an email. Thanks
User quality is exactly what I'm looking for. Haven't really set a firm budget. Just looking for an affordable start.
Hi Jim - Thanks for the PM. I appreciate the help. I will look into the coarse synthetic from Norton. What 2 oil stones do you use. Do you free hand sharpen then?
Thanks for your suggestions Jim. Much appreciated!
Thanks for that Jim. That confirms what I strongly suspected. When WR planes came out, and the discussions erupted on a couple of forums, I was also getting some of the inside info from Rob Lee. The whole deal soured me on Woodcraft, and I still will not purchase anything from them (not that they are aware or fussed by this ) Cheers Derek
