  1. Jim, how much for the smallest and the large or are you just interested in selling 1?

Here's the setup method I use and Brian Holcombe has an excellent tutorial. The trick is getting the blade and chip breaker tight enough that it won't back out in use, but not too tight to adjust.

    I have three candidates.

All are 65 mm wide. The smallest is 190 mm long, the other 240 mm.

The smallest needs fitting, the iron and chip breaker (osae-gane) are loose. The dai is old, and has shrunk some. It's the best steel of the tree, but might be a chore to get up and running.

The larger Japanese plane is nothing special, but it's essentially new. If you want to practice tuning and sharpening traditional irons, it's a good choice.

The best made has a Hock blade but it's set up and ready to use, it's plain-Jane 01 steel so your stock sharpening rig will work fine.

$100 including delivery for any one of them.

  4. Jim, I was thinking 60-65mm would not mind a smaller one either. Thanks for the reply.
