    Fred,

That hunt below 100 rpm is the way the inverter is programed. I had an electrical engineer tell me that when a unit is run at a very low rpm for extended periods of time, that a motor and electronics can overheat, so evidently Grizzly has had their unit programed so that it searches a little when very low rpm, so as to get the user to speed up a little. What this does is protect the electronics and motor, and make it have longevity.

On the high belt setting, the specs say 300rpm, but let me tell you..........mine has gotten smoother over time as I have used it, and it will run without any hunt now at about 175 rpm on the high belt setting, and about 70 rpm on the low belt setting. Part of this, [in my opinion] is that after a year of operation now, the machine is now broken in, and it is just performing so very well..........frankly, I could not have asked for any better performance from my G0698. It truly has been superb!
  2. Do any of you have a hunt issue with your lathe? I understand that there was some sort of hunting thing with extra low speeds. I can stop mine with the speed control, with no load. I have never used the high speed belt setting. So far I am real pleased with mine. I think Roger is to. Thought I would post here and see what others impression of their lathe was.
