I don’t believe wood fibers can hold together in any kind of shape that long...
In my mind a 1 1/2 maple top shouldn’t warp if the wood is kiln dried. So my guess from a thousand miles away is the figure 8s aren’t allowing enough...
Ive worked in the construction industry since 1984. Roofing was my main trade. I have fixed or restored many historic building in So Cal. Including the Getty museum in Malibu and the Central library in Pasadena that was damaged from the Northridge earth quake.Just to name a few.
