    I don't post at sawmill ck. much, but you might try these guys if you can't find a metal surplus dealer in your area.
    I found a bin full of used 2 step pulleys and bought one for under $5 at K's .
    I'm restoring an antique lathe and needed one

    Let them know your specs and ask them what shipping might be for something like that.
    If I was turning one I would want something stable with a lot of density.
    Maybe lignum vitae or osage orange.
    Lots of options.
