Split bed leg - (I've done worse, on unique stock)

Sorry for the PM, I no longer openly post.



If the bed hardware is at the bottom, could a crossgrain "pad" be inserted as a repair?

If the legs are straight, and untapered - could it be flipped end for end and remorticed?
