Please consider instating some basic classified listing rules:

Some minimum activity *before* selling items. Verification of the listing by the seller - through their originating contact email, rather than PM.
(Ebay is forever combating hijacked listings.)


A clearly stated price and location.

Charge a nominal fee to offset operating costs, in addition to dues.

There have been multiple "fishing" ads of late, where sellers either are unfamiliar with reasonable values and/or no real connection to our mutual hobby.

Understood. I haven't been on the forum much lately and let my contributor membership lapse, but I'll have that taken care of shortly. Once that's done is it okay to post for him as long as I act as the middle man?

Wes, when we created our Classifieds Forum the majority decided that it was only to be used by Members of SawMill Creek. People wanted a place just for Members without outside intervention so we don't allow anyone who is not a Contributor here to post and Members are allowed to read posts and contact Contributors via PM concerning purchases.

I just got a stellar deal on some gently-used tools from a retiree that’s selling out his hobby shop and moving back north. He has a big dual drum sander that I think he will have a really hard time selling locally and I’d love to see a member get a great deal. I offered to list it as a favor - no commission or anything like that. Please let me know if this is okay.
