I started learning about the world of tools and materials from my Dad who did everything himself. My brother and I were his helpers, forklift, backhoe etc. But we learned how to repair cars, perform basic steam fitting, industrial electrical and plumbing. We learned home building and woodworking on some very basic (and frightening) equipment.

I have continued woodworking all throughout my flying career, at least whenever I had a permanent home.
