Biography:

Derek Skapars is an excellent and highly recognized woodworker in the New England area. He created "Derek Skapars' Rustic New England Furniture Company" in 2006. The first step to Derek Skapars' success came about in June of 1996 when he received the Dover-Sherborn Regional High School award for "Excellence in Woodworking". An interest was sparked and a passion was discovered.

After successfully completing a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Arizona State University, Derek immediately began exploring the world of rustic furniture making. He also completed a Furniture Making Program at the well known North Bennet Street School in the famous North End of Boston, Massachusetts. The knowledge of basic hand tools, strong creativity, and the transformation of energy from natural tree form to functional furniture form, all contribute to the final product of a long-lasting, eye-pleasing piece of rustic beauty.

Filling custom orders for all sorts of tables (dining, kitchen, end, lamp, coffee, and half-moon), as well as many more variations of rustic and fine furniture have been keeping "Derek Skapars' Rustic New England Furniture Company" busy with work. With this website, craft shows, a small and skilled staff, the amazing products of Derek Skapars are available to the general public for all to enjoy, use, and admire.
