"Professional" paint (Sherwin Williams, etc) vs Box-Store paint

    Thread Starter: Dan Friedrichs

In our new house, I bought Valspar Signature paint from Lowe's to paint the entire interior, but ended up hiring professional painters to do the job. Nice, honest guys, who very timidly pulled me aside after putting on 2 coats of the Valspar and asked if I'd be offended if they went and bought...

    3D Planning Software

    Thread Starter: Bennie Dempsey

Hey all! I would like to start planning out my projects before I begin them, as I've heard that's a good habit to have. I can find a modeling program online pretty easily, but I wanted to see what you guys use. I am awful at hand drafting so paper and pencil isn't my go-to for personal projects....

    Thread Starter: Michael Gantz

I'm currently in the process of building a 24' x 36' shop with 10' ceilings. The walls are 2" x 6" studs and the cavities are filled with cellulose insulation. The walls are covered in 1/2" drywall. My intention is to minimize wall penetrations to keep air leaks to a minimum. The plan is to...

    "Drop cutting" on a shaper

    Thread Starter: Jack Hovanec

Hey guys, I am working on a project that requires three mahogany stop-fluted half columns. The columns are 6 3/4 wide and I already got a knife ground that will do two flutes at a time (There are 4 total flutes on the face, 1/2" radius). My question is: how does one safely and efficiently "drop...

    Tormek price drop?

I have a similar setup, but can't use a dry grinder in the old houses we work on. I need to go back to a wet grinder, but the regular Tormek is too slow.

    Tormek price drop?

At that point, you might as well buy a slow speed grinder and just use the tormek jigs. Would probably be cheaper. I have a tormek T8 but also the setup

    Tormek price drop?

Really depends on what you will use it for, what kinds of things you will sharpen. I bought the turning packing which I use a lot plus the planer knife
